Spark Trio with Special Guest Martin Kershaw

Spark Trio are back with their monthly Friday series and this month are joined by special guest saxophonist Martin Kershaw. Martin Kershaw has been a central figure on the Scottish music scene since returning from two years’ study at Berklee College of Music in 1999. Since then, he has led his own projects to critical acclaim, including the experimental Trianglehead and two quartet albums under his own name. Martin is also known for his compositions notably his large ensemble piece, notably the ‘Hero as Riddle’ suite, and his composition ‘Closing in’ for Mr McFall’s Chamber, shortlisted for a British Composers Award. He has been a regular member of the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra since 1999, having held the lead alto chair since 2004. Tonight, Martin joins Spark Trio to perform some of his original compositions and selections from the modern jazz repertoire. Spark Trio are Joe Williamson (guitar), Paul Harrison (Organ), Stephen Henderson (Drums). Doors 7.30pm  £7/£6 The venue  is a mix of seated and standing. Seating is allocates on a first come first served basis.   Advance Reserved Seating Booking Should you wish to guarantee seating, reserved seating is available at £10 per person in advance. Please fill in our booking form to arrange. Our cabaret style tables seat 4 to 6 so smaller groups may be sharing and larger groups split over several tables. Club open 7pm – 3am
